About the position
The Director of Medical Staffing at UCI Health is responsible for overseeing all medical staff functions within the department. This role involves coordinating and supervising medical staff activities, serving as a liaison between the Medical Staff and Administration, and ensuring compliance with credentialing and regulatory standards. The position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and plays a critical role in maintaining the operational integrity of medical staffing processes.
Responsibilities
- Coordinates, supervises, and directs all medical staff functions in the department.
- Acts as a liaison to the Medical Staff and Administration regarding credentialing, committee work, and bylaws.
- Ensures compliance with Joint Commission Standards, Title 22, and CMS regulations for the Medical Staff.
Requirements
- Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards, Title 22, and CMS regulations for the Medical Staff.
- CPMSM Certification by NAMSS.
- At least three years' experience as a Director or Medical Staff Coordinator with supervisory responsibility.
- Experience with minute-taking, meeting preparation, and follow-up.
- Experience with coordination of medical education programs.
- Knowledge of credentialing and recredentialing Medical Staff and AHP Staff practitioners in a hospital medical staff setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
