About the position

The Director, Data Architect for the Enterprise Data Management team at PGIM Investments will lead the transition to Microsoft cloud platforms for data processing and management. This role involves defining standards, overseeing data engineering processes, and implementing solutions that adhere to industry best practices. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure successful data solutions and the effective use of Microsoft Fabric for data analytics.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data warehouse and lakehouse solutions using Microsoft Fabric and related technologies.
  • Architect solutions that incorporate BI tools like Power BI for seamless data integration.
  • Develop and deploy data integration solutions, including data ingestion, transformation, and delivery within Microsoft Fabric.
  • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across the data warehouse ecosystem.
  • Establish a workspace architecture strategy to allow data sharing while adhering to security and governance rules.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the Fabric space, providing training and mentoring to teams.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of solution architectures for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business and technology partners to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.
  • Stay updated with advancements in data platform technologies and reflect these innovations in solution designs.

Requirements

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in cloud computing with Microsoft Azure leading migrations, integrations, and deployments.
  • 10+ years of experience as a Data Architect, with expertise in designing, managing, and deploying client solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure services including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, and Azure SQL Database.
  • Strong knowledge of Fabric workloads and features including Notebooks, Deployment Pipelines, and AI Skills.
  • Proficient in Azure DevOps for managing CI/CD pipelines, builds, and releases.
  • Proven ability to implement data governance tools and compliance requirements.
  • Specific experience in .Net architecture, design, and development using Azure platform services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Financial Services experience working with Mutual Fund, CEFs, ETFs, SMAs, and UCITS background preferred.
  • Microsoft certifications in data-related fields such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Data Engineer.
