About the position

The Director of Mid Marketing at NextEra Energy is responsible for marketing physical Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to oil and gas exploration and production companies in the TX/NM/OK markets. This senior-level position involves identifying, qualifying, and developing accounts for the purchase and sale of wholesale energy commodities, focusing on value creation for various customer classes. The role requires close collaboration with traders and legal departments to execute profitable transactions while maintaining a strong understanding of market dynamics and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains key accounts in regions where NextEra has significant business interests
• Maintains frequent communications to identify customers' explicit and implicit needs and willingness to transact for both new and existing accounts
• Disseminates strategic information to the trading desk to help traders extract value from volatile commodity markets
• Understands relevant regulations for regional wholesale energy generation and transmission and the state of business affairs within the market
• Maintains familiarity with market supply/demand fundamentals and futures market trends
• Understands the credit and legal aspects of document negotiations including ISDAs, EEIs, NAESBs and WSPPs
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School Grad / GED
• Bachelor's Degree
• 5+ years of experience in energy marketing or related field

Nice-to-haves

• Minimum of 10 years of commercial experience working at an energy marketing firm with experience in natural gas (CNG/LNG/RNG), propane, or diesel/fuel oil
• Experience marketing gas fired equipment (rental generators, dual fuel pressure pumps, or dual fuel drilling rigs)
• Existing list of engineering and supply chain contacts
