About the position

The position at Blue Origin involves leading efforts to secure National Security Space (NSS) program partnerships and contracts, particularly with the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. The role requires direct interaction with external customers, internal technical staff, and senior leadership, including Vice Presidents and C-suite executives. The candidate will be responsible for developing capture strategies, writing proposals, and tracking relevant government programs, all while contributing to a culture of safety and quality in human spaceflight.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and implementation of capture strategy for sales of Blue Origin products and services to U.S. Government acquisition programs.
  • Lead campaign teams for the creation of new opportunities in coordination with company senior leadership across multiple business units.
  • Develop and write comprehensive proposals and responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Track U.S. Government programs of interest, including budget, Congressional actions, and technical requirements.
  • Assess competitor capabilities and offerings to understand market competitiveness.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in business development and capture strategy within the aerospace or defense sectors.
  • Strong technical background related to space systems and government contracting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with senior leadership and external customers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with National Security Space programs and contracts.
