About the position

The Director of National Security Sales at Blue Origin is responsible for leading efforts to secure partnerships and contracts within the National Security Space (NSS) sector, particularly with the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. This role involves direct interaction with external customers and internal teams, requiring a blend of technical expertise, leadership, and strategic vision to drive sales and support the company's mission of making space accessible and safe for all.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development and implementation of capture strategy for sales of Blue Origin products and services to U.S. Government acquisition programs.
  • Lead development and writing of comprehensive proposals and responses to Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Track U.S. Government programs of interest, including budget and technical requirements.
  • Assess competitor capabilities to understand market competitiveness.
  • Assist in developing Blue Origin positions on issues for communication to Congressional and U.S. Government agency offices.
  • Engage with current and prospective Government and industry customers to build relationships.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to translate complex technical matters for broader audiences.
  • Manage consultants to support various initiatives.
  • Think creatively about how Blue Origin's Vision supports national security objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field.
  • 15+ years of experience in U.S. Government space-related activities and programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in government contracting and proposal evaluations.
  • Experience developing capture management strategies for U.S. Government programs.
  • Strong organizational skills for tracking customers and meeting deadlines.
  • High judgment, energy, creativity, and standards for self and others.
  • Ability to earn trust and maintain professional relationships.
  • Active or ability to acquire Top Secret (TS) / Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) security clearance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
