About the position

The Director of North America Ecommerce at Brooks will lead the growth and development of the brand's critical sales channel, focusing on direct-to-runner experiences through digital platforms. This role encompasses strategic vision, oversight of ecommerce operations, and ensuring a seamless connection between the brand and its customers. The director will manage a team of ecommerce professionals, drive innovation, and maintain accountability for the profit and loss of the ecommerce channel.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the site and related digital applications where Brooks connects with runners.
  • Ensure the entire site experience and content is on brand and effectively achieving business goals.
  • Build out the product mix for the site to attract new and repeat runners while meeting margin and profitability goals.
  • Develop strategies to increase sell-through on key categories.
  • Own web and customer analytics for digital properties and channels, setting and delivering KPIs for the business.
  • Lead the development of insights and applications related to site strategies and digital channels.
  • Advocate for the runner while ensuring appropriate brand positioning in all activities.
  • Define and lead the CRO strategy for the site, including merchandising and promotions.
  • Contribute to the personalization strategy and roadmap for the site.
  • Partner with Digital Products and stakeholders to build user experience and functionality roadmap.
  • Drive omnichannel digital roadmap with cross-functional partners.
  • Lead and develop a team of ecommerce, online merchandising, and analytics professionals.
  • Promote Brooks' Core Cultural Values and maintain team morale.
  • Manage the full P/L of the ecommerce channel, setting revenue targets and executing the operating budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, Marketing, Economics, or Communications; M.B.A. preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years related experience, with at least 7 years in Digital Retail and 7 years in management.
  • Experience driving customer experience and sales across digital channels.
  • Marketplaces or social shopping experience is a bonus.
  • Managerial level financial knowledge and skills for business planning and budgeting.
  • Extensive knowledge of the Digital Retail landscape, including web sales and merchandising techniques.
  • Experience driving cross-functional collaboration across multiple divisions.
  • Holistic thinker with the ability to establish and drive end-to-end strategies.
  • Consumer goods category experience is a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire teams through growth and change.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in non-digital retail environments.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to maintain relationships while winning concessions.
  • Ability to present effectively to various organizational levels.
