About the position
The Director of the Nursing ADN Program at Collin College is responsible for the overall management and administration of the nursing program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves strategic planning, budget management, curriculum development, faculty supervision, and fostering positive relationships among faculty, staff, and students. The director will also oversee program evaluation and maintain program records, ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing education.
Responsibilities
- Direct day-to-day management of the nursing program.
- Maintain accreditation standards and compliance with SACSCOC standards.
- Facilitate staffing, budget preparation, curriculum development, recruitment, advising, and program marketing.
- Participate in strategic and academic cycle planning with the Academic Dean.
- Develop and manage the master schedule for nursing courses.
- Evaluate programs, faculty, staff, and resources for effective program delivery.
- Assist in budget management and ensure programs remain within budget.
- Maintain accurate program records and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in faculty search committees and provide hiring recommendations.
- Manage student admission, advisement, progression, and graduation processes.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is required.
- Five years of related clinical experience in nursing.
- Three years of teaching experience in a professional nursing education program.
- Two years of supervisory experience required.
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree in Nursing Education or Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
- Experience as a director of an associate or baccalaureate nursing program preferred.
