About the position

The Director of Administrative Applications is responsible for providing strategic direction and management to the Colleague Application Support team at Antioch University. This role involves overseeing the university's administrative computing systems, coordinating technology projects, and ensuring that operational goals are met. The position requires leadership in managing software applications, project planning, and resource allocation, while also ensuring compliance with organizational policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall strategic direction and management expertise to the administrative computing of the university.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities of technology projects to ensure project goals are accomplished.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
  • Consult with management to determine goals, time frames, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing administrative computing projects.
  • Develop project plans specifying goals, strategy, staffing, scheduling, and risk identification.
  • Identify and schedule project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
  • Assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority to project personnel.
  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget.
  • Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.
  • Prepare project status reports and keep management and stakeholders informed of project status.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3+ years of software application management experience in higher education.
  • Experience in application consulting or business processing in a higher education environment is highly desired.
  • Strong communication skills to clearly convey project status.

  • Experience with Colleague modules and implementation support.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies.
