About the position

The Director of Admissions/College Recruiter at Pamlico Community College is responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract a diverse student population. This role involves leading the admissions team, collaborating with various departments, and representing the college at events to promote educational opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract a diverse student population.
  • Lead the admissions team and collaborate with the Department of Student Services, faculty, and staff.
  • Represent the college at various events to promote educational opportunities.
  • Process all incoming admissions applications and correspondence to students.
  • Maintain confidentiality and understand FERPA regulations regarding academic records.
  • Create, maintain, file, and archive all student records.
  • Upload and maintain student State Residency Numbers and send necessary correspondence to students.
  • Serve as the contact for student record information and process enrollment verification.
  • Register and process students' drop/add/withdraws.
  • Communicate with the Registrar and Director of Financial Aid to complete various reports and meet deadlines.
  • Collaborate with the Business Office for student refunds and account issues.
  • Process course substitutions in the student's program of study.
  • Submit monthly graduation extraction report and assist with the graduation process.
  • Develop a calendar of regular on-and off-campus events, including high school and middle school visits, workshops, and college fairs.
  • Visit service area partners and agencies to connect with potential students and promote the College's programs and services.
  • Assist potential students with the completion of admissions applications and FAFSA.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Public Affairs to obtain relevant promotional materials and social media content.
  • Organize and perform group presentations including New Student Orientation.
  • Serve as the staff advisor for student organizations such as SGA and PTK.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of professional experience in an office setting.
  • Familiarity with an integrated administrative software package (Datatel's Colleague preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree required.
