About the position

The Director of Admissions Marketing and Communications at Carnegie Mellon University's Tepper School of Business is responsible for providing strategic direction for mid-funnel admissions marketing and communication plans aimed at driving enrollment for the school's Masters Programs. This role requires strong marketing and communication skills, as well as the ability to lead a team and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to enhance the admissions process and attract top talent.

Responsibilities

  • Create and oversee email drip campaigns and related marketing content for Masters Admissions using the Slate CRM system.
  • Develop and maintain effective email content that highlights the unique attributes of the programs and addresses candidate needs throughout the admissions funnel.
  • Determine strategy and assess outcomes related to A/B testing, open/click rates, conversions, and other marketing metrics through data analytics.
  • Collaborate with the Tepper Marketing & Communications team to ensure a seamless customer journey from the top of the funnel through enrollment.
  • Establish strong relationships with faculty and staff to market program differentiators and attract high-quality applicants.
  • Lead a team of two admissions staff, conducting performance evaluations and training to meet organizational goals.
  • Work with the Executive Director of Masters Admissions to implement marketing strategies to meet enrollment targets.
  • Create presentations and talking points for recruiters to ensure consistent messaging to prospective students.
  • Attend recruitment receptions in various cities to enhance visibility and attract quality applicants.
  • Evaluate MBA and MS applications and make recommendations to the Admissions Committee based on candidate potential and outcomes.
  • Conduct behavioral interviews as part of the candidate evaluation process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-8 years of marketing/communications experience required; experience in higher education and with CRMs such as Slate preferred.
  • Ability to lead others.
