The Director of Aggregate Operations at Summit Materials is a pivotal role responsible for leading and optimizing aggregates production operations. The position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Aggregates for the West Region and plays a critical role in driving operational efficiency while fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. In this role, the Director will promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement by conducting regular safety audits and providing ongoing training and development opportunities for team members. Strategic leadership will be required to manage all aspects of aggregates production, ensuring seamless integration with parallel business units such as Ready Mix, Trucking, and Construction. The Director will also be responsible for developing and executing operational strategies that enhance productivity, minimize costs, and maximize profitability while maintaining high safety and quality standards. The position requires oversight of both short-term and long-term production plans to meet customer demand and achieve business targets. Continuous improvement initiatives will be a key focus, aimed at optimizing equipment utilization and streamlining production processes. Compliance with regulatory requirements and environmental standards is essential, as is the development of area managers and site leaders to create a high-performing team.
