About the position

The Director of Application Security - DevSecOps at Pegasystems is a leadership role focused on safeguarding the security and integrity of the company's applications and platforms. This hybrid position involves overseeing a skilled team responsible for implementing security measures, conducting assessments, and providing tools that enable platform engineering teams to build securely. The role requires collaboration with internal stakeholders and customers to address complex security concerns while shaping and optimizing security protocols across the software development lifecycle.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery of security analysis tools to platform engineering, ensuring integration and adherence to best practices.
• Ensure compliance with security protocols and continuously advance the approach to align with industry standards.
• Collaborate with Pega's Chief of Security and support account executives and customers on security-related matters.
• Facilitate security assessments and innovations that strengthen the security posture throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• 10+ years in a security-related role, preferably in application security or DevSecOps.
• Demonstrated ability to write code in languages such as Java, Python, or .Net.
• Experience with secure development tools (e.g., SAST, SCA/OSS, DAST).
• Proficient in Agile methodologies and security standards (e.g., OWASP top 10).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to maintain poise in high-stakes situations.

Nice-to-haves

• Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GWAPT.
• Familiarity with frameworks like SAMM or BSIMM.
• Experience with tools such as Burp Suite or OWASP ZAP.
