About the position

The Director of Athletic Communication at Saint Vincent College is responsible for promoting and publicizing the college's athletic department, which includes overseeing communication for 24 varsity teams and more than 600 student-athletes. This role involves managing content across various platforms, including the department's website and social media, while ensuring adherence to branding guidelines. The director will also supervise staff and assist in the nomination of athletes for awards, contributing to the overall visibility and reputation of the college's athletic programs.

Responsibilities

• Promote and publicize the Saint Vincent College Department of Athletics and its 24 varsity athletic teams.
• Author and disseminate all official departmental press releases and pitch stories to media outlets.
• Oversee and maintain content on the Department of Athletics' official website.
• Oversee the production of livestreams of home athletic events.
• Create content for the department's official social media accounts.
• Maintain accurate statistics for all varsity sports and submit reports as required.
• Oversee graphic design and print production for the Department of Athletics.
• Maintain a robust collection of athletics photography.
• Nominate student-athletes and coaches for awards and recognition.
• Serve as brand manager for the Department of Athletics.
• Act as the liaison to the College's Office of Marketing and Communication.
• Supervise one full-time assistant, one graduate assistant, and 25 student assistants.

Requirements

• AP-style writing proficiency.
• Strong fluency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator).
• Strong fluency with Microsoft Office.
• Strong fluency with SIDEARM web content management system.
• Strong fluency with Genius NCAA LiveStats and PrestoStats statistical software.
• Working knowledge of digital photography and videography.
• Extensive knowledge of NCAA sports rules and statistical practices.
