About the position

The Director of Athletic Performance at Canisius College is responsible for overseeing the athletic performance programs for 20 varsity sports. This full-time, 12-month position requires a commitment to compliance with NCAA and institutional regulations while working closely with head coaches to enhance the athletic performance of student-athletes. The role includes supervising and educating student-athletes, managing the weight room, and developing graduate assistants and interns.

Responsibilities

• Administration of the athletic performance programs for 20 varsity sports.
• Work with head coaches to improve year-round athletic performance of all varsity student-athletes.
• Supervise, educate, document and monitor student-athletes while using the facility and ensure they are utilizing proper lifting techniques to ensure maximum results in a safe environment.
• Supervise and assist in the development of graduate assistants and interns.
• Schedule and supervise the weight room and maintain all the weight room equipment.
• Adhere to all rules and regulations of Canisius University, the MAAC and the NCAA.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree is required (Master's Degree preferred).
• CSCS or SCCC and current CPR/AED/ First Aid certification is required.
• Working knowledge of various training techniques.
• Prior experience at the collegiate level is preferred.
