About the position

The Director of Audio Visual Ministries (AVM) at GLIDE is responsible for ensuring that the church's message of inclusivity, love, and justice is effectively communicated through both in-person and virtual platforms. This role involves integrating advanced technology with faith-based programming to create impactful worship experiences, while overseeing sound, video, and live streaming operations. The Director plays a crucial role in enhancing the church's technological capabilities to support its mission of social justice and community empowerment.

Responsibilities

  • Produce both in-person and virtual Sunday Celebrations.
  • Set up, install, operate, test, and troubleshoot audio and video equipment for optimal worship atmosphere.
  • Lead the creation of music mixes and audio settings that align with the pastor's message.
  • Recruit and train A/V Assistants.
  • Manage A/V protocols including equipment inventory and safety procedures.
  • Integrate digital graphics and slides in collaboration with the Church Creative Director.
  • Collaborate with the Minister of Celebration and the Celebration Planning Team.
  • Live stream Sunday morning Celebrations and upload videos to social media platforms.
  • Run presentation software during services.
  • Manage offsite gigs as Ensemble and Change Band Manager.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience in directing, managing, or coordinating live production or equivalent experience in event coordination.
  • Advanced understanding of live church, live music, or live theater production.
  • Proficiency in sanctuary A/V systems and technologies such as Livestream, Zoom, Wirecast, and cabling.
  • Experience with sound boards and troubleshooting in a live environment.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail in design and editorial work.
  • Proficiency in Wirecast, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, HTML, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to articulate GLIDE's values across various platforms and audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Photography skills.
  • Experience with recording and streaming through platforms like Ecamm, Zoom, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
