About the position

The Director of Behavioral Services is responsible for overseeing the clinical and administrative operations of the inpatient behavioral health unit at Cayuga Health. This role ensures high-quality patient care, adherence to safety protocols, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with various medical and support staff to provide effective treatment programs. The director will also manage resources effectively and lead initiatives for continuous improvement in patient care outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the clinical and administrative operations of the inpatient behavioral health unit.
• Prepare and manage the budget, identifying opportunities for financial savings and revenue enhancement.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate departmental policies, procedures, and programs.
• Ensure staff education on department policies and provide administrative and clinical supervision for all staff.
• Monitor and evaluate patient care outcomes and implement performance improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in an acute mental health setting required.
• Valid RN License in the State of New York.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in psychiatry or applicable field preferred.
• Master's degree preferred (MSN, MBA, MHA, or leadership focused).
