About the position

The Director of Building Operations is responsible for overseeing the operations of 90 properties, managing over 7,300 units, and ensuring that facilities run efficiently and meet high standards. This role involves leading a team of Regional Facilities Directors, collaborating with C-Suite executives, and driving strategic initiatives to enhance operational excellence in affordable housing.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee operations for 90 properties (7,300 units), ensuring facilities run efficiently and meet high standards.
  • Manage and mentor a team of approximately 10 Regional Facilities Directors.
  • Collaborate directly with C-Suite executives, including regular reporting to the COO.
  • Travel to properties as needed to ensure operational excellence and compliance.
  • Drive strategic initiatives, including cost-saving measures and energy efficiency programs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Facilities Director or similar leadership role.
  • Proven ability to manage large teams and complex operations.
  • Strong preference for experience in affordable housing.
  • Comfortable working closely with VPs and C-Suite executives.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle for travel.
