About the position

We are the world market leader for reusable packaging containers (RPCs) for fresh food and are constantly optimizing our products. We help make the food supply cycle for the population more sustainable. With our RPCs, safety for food transport is improved, there is less waste of food and at the same time the lifespan of the products increases. Through our products and the need for less packaging materials we reduce the carbon footprint. The future is circular. Strategic leader responsible for driving growth by identifying potential markets, developing sales strategies, and establishing key partnerships. This position requires a blend of analytical skills, strategic thinking, and strong leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Builds business relationships at all organizational levels across multiple departments.
  • Conducts market research to identify new business opportunities and evaluate potential partnerships.
  • Develops and implements strategic plans to drive business growth and increase revenue beyond produce into meat, eggs, bread & other categories.
  • Provides overall direction by analyzing business objectives and customer needs; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing costs and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes; measuring outcomes to ensure desired results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer environment; and demonstrating adaptability and sponsoring continuous learning.
  • Drives business growth by developing and maintaining multiple internal and external business relationships; understanding and managing mutual value propositions, risks, and benefits; and supporting engagement and dialogue with stakeholders to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and realize value propositions and subsequent business objectives.
  • Drives development and implementation of business development initiatives by developing business plans, supporting programs, and services; directing the business development effort from sourcing to contracting; evaluating customer demand for and viability of current and future initiatives with partners; evaluating impact and risks of programs; developing risk mitigation plans; overseeing program implementation efforts in concert with the project management team; and guiding the program development, marketing programs, and services usage programs.
  • Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals by sponsoring and leading key community outreach and involvement initiatives; engaging key stakeholders in the development, execution, and evaluation of appropriate business plans and initiatives.
  • Develops retail data solution in partnership with retailer which leverages retailer data to bolster asset control.
  • Meets assigned re-collection budget through management of RPC utilization compliance & new business development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or agribusiness-related field required
  • Minimum 10 years related experience in sales--preferably in the fresh grocery industry (produce, meat, dairy, poultry, etc.)
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with customers
  • Proven ability to maintain high-closing sales ratios
  • Demonstrated ability to establish solid rapport with produce personnel at HQ, warehouse, stores and at the grower level
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to be self-motivated and succeed with limited direct supervision
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% of the work week to meet and work with assigned retailers and customers
