About the position

The Director of Business Operations at First United Methodist Church of Kearney is a full-time, salaried position responsible for overseeing the administrative, financial, and operational functions of the church. This role is crucial in ensuring the church operates smoothly and effectively, supporting its mission to make new disciples of Jesus Christ. The Director will collaborate closely with the Senior Pastor, staff, and Leadership Team to align resources and operations with the church's vision.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage staff, develop meeting agendas, and facilitate team coordination.
  • Administer the church's management software, oversee membership and attendance records, and generate reports for various ministries.
  • Serve as the primary contact for financial matters, including payroll, deposits, budgets, and stewardship campaigns.
  • Manage financial records, giving, and ensure confidentiality.
  • Oversee daily office operations, including phone systems, volunteer management, mail distribution, and digital storage.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience in leadership, strategic thinking, and operational management.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse personality types.
  • Commitment to the mission and theology of the United Methodist Church.
