About the position

The Director of Campaign Operations at Dartmouth College plays a pivotal role in managing the integrated approach to shared services within the Tuck Advancement department. This position is responsible for overseeing principal and leadership giving, annual giving, and alumni engagement initiatives. The Director will develop and manage workflows, processes, and systems that are essential for the effective administration of Advancement at Tuck. This includes supervising a team that handles stewardship, prospect management, data integrity, gift processing, communications management, and event services. In this role, the Director will work closely with advancement leadership to implement strategies that enhance donor engagement and alumni relations. The position requires a strong focus on collaboration and a donor-centric approach, ensuring that all activities related to donor engagement, data integrity, and event services are executed with a high standard of accuracy and excellence. The Director will also be responsible for utilizing technology and reporting tools to track solicitation strategies and manage alumni engagement opportunities effectively. Additionally, the Director will oversee campaign tracking, conduct forecasting, and analyze data to support Advancement priorities. This includes serving as a project manager for special projects and large-scale communications, such as annual fund solicitations and stewardship reports. The role also emphasizes professional development, encouraging the Director to seek out and share knowledge of higher education fundraising trends and innovations through market research and engagement with peer networks.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an integrated approach to shared services of principal and leadership giving, annual giving, and alumni engagement.
  • Develop and oversee workflows, processes, and systems related to the administration of Advancement at Tuck.
  • Supervise staff responsible for stewardship, prospect management, data integrity, gift processing, communications management, and event services.
  • Lead and manage a team of Advancement services professionals to support the engagement and cultivation of Tuck alumni.
  • Ensure activities related to dean deployment, donor engagement, data integrity, and event services are conducted efficiently and accurately.
  • Serve as a partner to the Advancement leadership team by implementing strategy and developing systems to support initiatives.
  • Conduct analysis to inform decision-making and ensure effective use of technology and reporting tools.
  • Oversee campaign tracking, conduct forecasting, and monitor progress against goals.
  • Serve as project manager for special projects and large-scale communications such as annual fund solicitations and stewardship reports.
  • Seek out and apply knowledge of higher education fundraising trends and innovations through market research and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus 6 or more years of experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing advancement systems and processes for nonprofit organizations.
  • Proficiency with alumni/donor management systems (e.g., Ellucian Advance).
  • Familiarity with stewardship, prospect management, and alumni and donor engagement.
  • Supervisory experience and/or experience leading a high-performing project team.
  • Knowledge of higher education alumni relations and philanthropy.
  • Strong data fluency and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management, organization, and data management skills.
  • Ability to support and strengthen a culturally diverse and inclusive learning community.
  • Ability to anticipate and exceed the expectations of donors and colleagues.
  • Ability to introduce and drive innovation in various ways.
