• Identify career services needs and establish program goals aligned with the Thayer Strategic plan.
• Hire, train, and supervise career services staff, ensuring professional development and growth.
• Cultivate communications with employers and collaborate with various academic and student affairs teams.
• Stay updated on employment trends and best practices in career services.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree plus 6 or more years of experience in career counseling or professional development in higher education.
• Exceptional knowledge of career and professional development practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets for data analysis and communication.
• Strong supervisory skills and ability to build relationships with students and stakeholders.
• Proven leadership and project management skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in counseling, education, or a related field.
• Experience working with engineers in a technical field.
• Familiarity with academic and social pressures faced by students.
