About the position

The Director of Child Care at Laughing and Growing Childcare Academy is responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of age-appropriate programs and curricula for children. This role involves managing staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering a positive environment for both children and staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and a solid understanding of child development and education.

Responsibilities

• Select age-appropriate programs, activities, and curricula for children.
• Support current staff and manage scheduling and office supplies.
• Implement new strategies to grow and expand outreach.
• Ensure compliance with county and state regulations, as well as with PA Keys.
• Manage staff expectations and handle scheduling and interpersonal conflicts.
• Review and approve all lesson plans, printed materials, bulletin announcements, and newsletters.
• Plan extra-curricular activities, including in-house entertainment and field trips.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience working with children.
• Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) preferred or an Associate's degree.
• Demonstrated experience managing a team.
• Deep understanding of childcare, child development, and education.
• Required licensing/certification to perform this role.
