About the position

The Director of Onboarding at a management consulting firm specializing in finance and accounting services for not-for-profit organizations will lead the onboarding process for new clients. This role focuses on ensuring a seamless transition into financial and operational systems while tailoring onboarding plans to meet client-specific needs. The position requires strong project management skills and the ability to maintain high levels of client satisfaction through effective communication and collaboration with various functional teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring all necessary steps are taken for a seamless transition into financial and operational systems.
  • Conduct discovery sessions with clients to tailor onboarding plans according to their processes, challenges, and goals.
  • Align processes to enable client workflows, adapting to meet client needs while ensuring adherence to standards.
  • Oversee the successful migration of client data into financial systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the transition process.
  • Develop comprehensive onboarding project plans, outlining key milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Manage multiple onboarding projects simultaneously, ensuring each project stays on schedule and meets defined objectives.
  • Communicate frequently with clients, providing regular updates on progress, addressing concerns, and offering solutions to obstacles during onboarding.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during the onboarding process, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction and responsive service.
  • Collaborate with client executives and stakeholders to secure buy-in on process changes and guide them through system adoption.
  • Work closely with AP, Contracts, and GL/Accounting functional owners to ensure alignment with client needs during onboarding.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental communication to ensure all internal teams understand the client's operational requirements.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the internal onboarding team, ensuring adherence to the client's onboarding schedule.
  • Generate onboarding reports for internal stakeholders and clients, outlining progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Analyze onboarding data to identify patterns, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Requirements

  • Strong client relationship management experience, particularly with non-profits in a public accounting or management consulting setting.
  • Proven experience in project management and leading onboarding processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and internal teams effectively.
  • Ability to analyze data and generate reports to identify areas for improvement.

  • Experience working with financial systems and data migration processes.
  • Familiarity with operational workflows in not-for-profit organizations.

Benefits

  • Salary range of $145,000 to $175,000 base plus bonus and benefits, depending on experience.
