About the position

As the Director of Clinical Operations and Academic Alignment at Touro University New York, you will be at the forefront of integrating technology within clinical and academic settings. You will be responsible for driving excellence in clinical operations while also enhancing educational initiatives through innovative technology solutions. Your dual role as both a director and engineer will require you to collaborate closely with system-wide leaders, technical engineers, and academic staff to execute a comprehensive strategic plan that aligns with the university's mission and academic goals. In this position, you will manage clinical information systems, ensuring they are optimized and aligned with academic initiatives. You will drive innovation in healthcare technology, focusing on improving patient care, telemedicine, and educational experiences. Building vendor partnerships will be crucial as you lead projects that integrate IT solutions into both academic and clinical environments. You will also be tasked with enhancing academic curricula by incorporating emerging technologies and best practices. Your leadership will extend to identifying opportunities for innovation within clinical and academic settings, evaluating emerging trends in healthcare IT and education. You will champion a culture of innovation, supporting research projects and technology-driven learning experiences. Quality assurance and compliance will be key components of your role, as you establish robust processes to ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and academic accreditation standards. Additionally, you will implement a security strategy that meets HIPAA compliance and follows NIST standards, aiming for HITRUST certification to optimize revenue growth and partnership potential.

Responsibilities

  • Execute a comprehensive strategic plan for clinical IT operations and academic alignment.
  • Collaborate with IT leaders and engineers, academic, research, and clinical staff to integrate innovative technologies into educational programs and clinical practices.
  • Implement, optimize, and maintain clinical information systems in alignment with academic initiatives.
  • Drive innovation in healthcare technology within clinical workflows, enhancing patient care, telemedicine, and educational experiences.
  • Build vendor partnerships and lead collaborative projects that integrate IT solutions into academic and clinical settings.
  • Enhance academic curricula through the incorporation of emerging technologies and best practices.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation in clinical and academic settings, evaluating emerging trends and technologies in healthcare IT and education.
  • Champion a culture of innovation by supporting research projects and technology-driven learning experiences.
  • Establish and maintain robust quality assurance processes for clinical IT operations and academic initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, academic accreditation standards, and best practices.
  • Implement a HIPAA-compliant system following NIST standards with a goal of HITRUST certification.
  • Standardize policies and procedures to reduce risks associated with vendors and data loss.

Requirements

  • 4 or more years as a technology professional.
  • Certifications in cybersecurity and cloud providers.
  • Experience in the healthcare/academic setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Amazon Infrastructure Cloud-based networking standards.
  • Regulatory knowledge aligned to ISO, HIPAA, and SOC 2 assessment.
  • Experience with RBAC and PowerShell scripting.
  • Experience working with 'Team-Based Practices,' like Agile and Kanban.
  • Ability to work on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to follow standard change management processes.
  • Ability to document and evaluate the impact of required changes to various systems.

  • Competitive salary range from $120,000 to $150,000 per year.
