About the position

The Director of Clinical Operations at Baylor Scott & White Surgical Hospital Fort Worth is responsible for overseeing the Acute Inpatient Care Services, including the ICU and Emergency Room. This role involves directing nursing care and clinical teams to ensure safe, effective, and efficient patient care, with a 24-hour daily responsibility. The position emphasizes collaboration, community service, and a commitment to quality care in a state-of-the-art surgical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Direct nursing care and clinical teams in the ICU and Emergency Room.
  • Ensure safe, effective, and efficient patient care with 24-hour responsibility.
  • Improve and maintain high employee morale as measured by employee satisfaction surveys.
  • Implement change and manage conflict effectively.
  • Participate in the continual viability of the facility through program development.
  • Develop, implement, and revise policies and procedures for service provision.
  • Identify cost-effective systems to support departmental business.
  • Establish effective working relationships with patients, physicians, employees, and vendors.
  • Utilize customer satisfaction data to identify and remedy issues.
  • Work with Senior Management to meet facility goals and serve as a resource.
  • Lead and participate in hospital and department meetings and councils.
  • Assist with staffing the unit as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a professional school of nursing with a BSN required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Current, active Texas RN License.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS certification required within 6 months of hire.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in Medical/Surgical or Intensive Care nursing.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in a management position with progressive leadership roles.
  • Strong leadership skills and professional behavior.
  • Knowledge of TDH, Medicare, and Joint Commission rules and regulations.
  • Effective listening and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to utilize Electronic Health Care Record for patient documentation.
