About the position

The Director of Clinical Operations at Oklahoma State University will play a pivotal role in overseeing the operational activities of assigned practices and departments within the Clinical Financial Services department. This position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to ensure the effective oversight of clinical programs, regulatory compliance, performance improvement, certification and accreditation, and quality improvement processes. The Director will provide managerial oversight for these areas and supervise practice managers, ensuring that all operations align with the goals and mission of OSU Medicine. In this leadership role, the Director will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of assigned practices. This includes working closely with both operational and clinical leadership within the medical group and the broader market to advance organizational objectives. Key responsibilities will encompass revenue cycle management, administration, program management, business development, and strategic planning. The Director will also be expected to foster a culture of safety, courtesy, presentation, and efficiency, as outlined in OSU Medicine's Customer Service Philosophy. The position also entails managing environmental hazards, including possible exposure to hazardous materials and blood-borne pathogens. Physical requirements include the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 20 pounds, as well as perform various physical activities such as standing, walking, and repetitive motions, with or without reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational oversight of all activities for assigned practices and departments.
  • Ensure oversight of clinical programs, regulatory compliance, performance improvement, certification and accreditation, and quality improvement processes.
  • Supervise practice managers and provide managerial oversight for identified areas.
  • Coordinate and evaluate the overall direction of assigned practices.
  • Work closely with operational and clinical leadership to advance the goals of OSU Medicine.
  • Manage revenue cycle, administration, program management, business development, and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public health, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of healthcare practice management experience within a multi-clinic, multi-specialty, or general setting, or equivalent experience.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of systems frameworks, strategic analysis, and efficient resource allocation.
  • Strong relationship management and analytical capabilities.
  • Expertise in verbal and written communication, with the ability to develop intricate documents, presentations, and business plans.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other relevant software.
