About the position

The Director of Clinical Operations at Oruka Therapeutics is responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational management oversight for clinical programs. This role involves managing all aspects of clinical studies, building relationships with trial sites, and collaborating with CROs and vendors. The position requires a hands-on approach, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while ensuring operational success and timely delivery of clinical objectives.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement high-level Clinical Operations and study-specific strategies aligned with the clinical development plan.
• Analyze complex issues to develop relevant and realistic plans and recommendations.
• Monitor vendors and track metrics to ensure operational success and timely delivery.
• Drive all clinical study related activities, timelines, actions, and plans.
• Ensure clear communication of risks and challenges to functional and program leadership.
• Lead the development of the clinical study program, including critical path activities and milestones.
• Mentor and provide leadership support to junior staff.
• Manage cross-functional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in health/science related field preferred.
• 10-12 years of relevant industry experience.
• Excellent organizational, communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to foster effective relationships with vendors, investigators, and colleagues.
• Proficiency in study monitoring activities.
• Knowledge of CROs and centralized services operational characteristics.
• Experience across Phase 1 through 3 clinical trial execution, with preference for early phase global experience.

Nice-to-haves

• Dermatologic drug development experience is a plus.
