About the position

The Director of Clinical Operations at CHAS Health is responsible for providing clinical leadership to medical assistants and supporting clinical and operational leaders. The role focuses on improving community health by overseeing clinical education, optimizing medical assistant roles, and implementing strategies to enhance patient care and access.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee medical assistants, supervisors, phlebotomists, and x-ray technicians.
  • Guide and create applicable education in collaboration with Learning and Development.
  • Provide clinical oversight and support to medical assistants and supervisors.
  • Optimize the medical assistant role and track performance metrics.
  • Maintain awareness of population health trends and recommend clinical strategies.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate policies and procedures related to the medical assistant role.
  • Design, implement, and maintain workflows and quality improvement efforts with operations.
  • Create collaborative relationships with community partners to address patient needs.
  • Provide input to the Quality Improvement team and perform clinical reviews for medical assistants.
  • Support the implementation of infection control policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience required.
  • Experience with electronic health records required.
  • RN experience strongly preferred.
  • Medical assisting experience considered, preferably within a community health setting.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
  • Compassion for patients required.
  • Ability to work well in a matrix team environment required.
  • Capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment required.
  • Computer skills required.
  • BLS (CPR/AED) certification required.
  • Valid driver's license and insurance required.
