About the position

The Director of Cloud & Data Architecture will play a pivotal role in shaping the data architecture and governance strategies for the organization. This position involves advocating for global architecture principles, managing a community of data and cloud experts, and serving as a key liaison with major cloud service providers. The director will also support regional brands in their data journey, ensuring compliance and effective data management practices.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the global data technical standards in liaison with the central team
• Advocate in the region for the architecture principles, best practices, and tools defined globally by the client
• Advise and support regional brands on their data journey (organization, governance, compliance and architecture)
• Manage & animate the client's Data IT community comprised of data & cloud experts in the US region
• Act as a key point of contact in the US for the architecture/technical teams of key providers of the company including two hyperscalers (Microsoft, Google) and the Managed Services Operators (Accenture, Cap Gemini)
• Understand the brand's business process flows & business models, and understand their current architecture setup, as to be able to provide relevant insights
• Work closely with the enterprise architects and solution owners of brands (Local or HQ) to prepare strategies and define requirements, prior to development

Requirements

• 10-15 years of experience in data management, with an emphasis on data integration and governance in a corporate environment
• Prior experience overseeing and advising cloud and data projects acting as a liaison between the designated teams
• Strong experience working with data platforms and projects within a Public Cloud environment (Azure, AWS or GCP)
• Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and managing projects in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in data integration tools (ex: Talend and Informatica)
• Proficiency in database management systems (SQL, NoSQL)
