About the position

The Director of Communication and Marketing at Clovis Community College plays a pivotal role in shaping the institution's public image and outreach efforts. Reporting directly to the president, this position is responsible for providing leadership, direction, and innovation across all marketing, communications, alumni relations, and development initiatives. The director will work collaboratively with the CCC Foundation team to support fundraising and development efforts for the college, ensuring that all marketing goals and objectives align with the institution's mission and vision. This role requires a strategic thinker who can coordinate the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of marketing strategies that convey a consistent brand message and visual identity. In addition to overseeing public relations activities, the director will serve as the public information officer (PIO), maintaining open and positive lines of communication with local communities and the media. This includes preparing news releases, public service announcements, and feature articles that highlight the college's achievements and initiatives. The director will also collaborate with various college departments to develop communication strategies aimed at recruiting high school students and retaining current students, ensuring that the college's messaging resonates with diverse populations. The position involves planning and coordinating special events and programs that foster relationships with students, parents, alumni, and donors. The director will manage the college's social media presence, including the planning and deployment of campaigns, engaging with stakeholders, and monitoring online conversations to enhance brand advocacy. Additionally, the director will oversee the content management of the Clovis Community College website, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations while keeping the community informed about college news and events. This role requires a proactive approach to editing and production support for various marketing materials, ensuring high-quality outputs across different formats, including video, print, and digital. The director will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the college's communication and marketing efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and direction for all marketing, communications, alumni relations, and development efforts.
  • Collaborate with the CCC Foundation team on fundraising and development initiatives.
  • Coordinate the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of marketing goals and objectives.
  • Maintain relationships and communications in support of the college's work and student success.
  • Plan and monitor departmental budgets for marketing and related activities.
  • Supervise and evaluate assigned staff.
  • Serve as the public information officer (PIO) and maintain communication with local communities and media.
  • Oversee preparation of news releases, public service announcements, and feature articles.
  • Develop and implement marketing and communication plans for diverse platforms.
  • Coordinate special events and programs to promote college relations with stakeholders.
  • Manage day-to-day social media publishing and campaigns.
  • Write and manage content for the college website, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Provide editing support for various marketing materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of public relations, design, and/or marketing experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
