About the position

The Director of Communications and Outreach at the University of Pennsylvania is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy for the Center for Health Justice (CHJ). This role aims to promote the vision of the CHJ, enhance its reputation, and expand its impact on health equity for marginalized communities. The director will collaborate with leadership, manage content creation, oversee social media and website management, and ensure effective communication across various platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with CHJ leadership to create and execute a comprehensive communications strategy.
  • Write copy, create content, and manage the distribution of newsletters, reports, and promotional materials.
  • Design and edit content for communications collateral using the CHJ brand kit.
  • Develop and implement CHJ's social media plan across multiple platforms.
  • Enhance and manage the CHJ web pages to improve user experience and communication.
  • Identify strategies to amplify messaging and build the CHJ's reputation.
  • Edit, proofread, and assist with writing manuscripts, opinion pieces, and grants.
  • Collect and analyze metrics to evaluate the success of communications deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts degree.
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in communications or a related field.
  • Experience in writing, copy editing, content creation, and graphic design.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and engagement skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in photography and videography.
