The University of South Carolina is seeking a Director of Communications for the Division of Human Resources. This pivotal role involves overseeing the communication operations and executing an integrated communications strategy that aligns with the Division's objectives. The Director will work closely with various units within the Division, including Benefits, Employee Relations, Talent Acquisition/Recruitment, Organizational and Professional Development, International Services, Classification and Compensation, and Operations, Services, and Systems. The primary goal is to effectively communicate with University Leadership, HR Contacts, supervisors, and current and potential employees while adhering to the university's branding and communication policies. In this role, the Director will be responsible for creating and developing both web and print content that supports the mission of the Division. This includes communicating official HR actions and disseminating best practices in human resource management. The Director will also collaborate on projects prioritized by the Division, working with colleagues within the Division of Human Resources and occasionally across the university. The position requires a proactive approach to managing numerous ongoing tasks, ensuring that all communications are timely, accurate, and aligned with the university's strategic goals. The Director of Communications will also be tasked with designing, developing, executing, and measuring an integrative marketing and communications strategic plan to advance the Division's priorities. This includes managing social and digital media strategies, ensuring digital accessibility of HR communications, and building a messaging structure to ensure that all USC employees receive the most current HR communications quickly and efficiently. The role is essential in enhancing the visibility and effectiveness of the Division of Human Resources through strategic communication efforts.
