About the position

Roblox is seeking a Director of Communications to manage consumer and corporate communications across the LATAM region. This role involves building and leading essential communications programs, managing the company's response to reputational challenges, and implementing localized communications campaigns through earned media channels. The position requires a strong understanding of the media landscape in LATAM markets and aims to influence various audiences while showcasing user-generated virtual experiences on the platform.

Responsibilities

  • Build, lead and implement compelling communications campaigns in LATAM markets in support of business objectives.
  • Apply deep understanding of the media landscape to build strategic recommendations and scalable communications programs.
  • Handle high-profile and fast-paced business issues while demonstrating good judgment.
  • Lead local market media outreach in support of global communications campaigns and announcements.
  • Develop company positions on key regional issues and strategy for reactive and proactive communications plans.
  • Support communications objectives across various business functions in LATAM.
  • Manage LATAM press office, agency relationships, and crisis management as needed.
  • Act as a public-facing spokesperson for Roblox in media interviews and at LATAM events and conferences.
  • Bring fresh ideas and a creative approach to deliver measurable results.
  • Brief spokespeople and staff for C-suite interviews.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience in communications, ideally in a consumer technology company.
  • Fluent language skills in English and either Spanish or Portuguese; additional language skills are a plus.
  • Proven experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Track record of developing and implementing essential communications plans aligned with business priorities.
  • Success in developing impactful proactive communications campaigns across multiple markets.
  • Experience supporting various in-house business functions and serving their communications needs.
  • Experience managing multiple communication agencies in an in-house role.
  • Performance handling communications in crisis situations, including crafting clear directives.
  • Experience acting as a public-facing spokesperson in media interviews.
