About the position

The Director of Communications at WEX Inc. is a global role within the Marketing team, responsible for developing and executing comprehensive communication strategies that align with the company's business goals. This position involves managing a team of communications advisors and strategists, collaborating across the organization to create engaging communication campaigns for both internal and external audiences. The role emphasizes the importance of effective communication in enhancing the company's reputation and supporting its operational complexities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a global communications strategy and implementation plans that align with the company's strategy.
  • Develop a CEO communications strategy in partnership with the Office of the CEO.
  • Create an employee-centric communications strategy in collaboration with the Chief People Officer.
  • Ensure effective communication of key strategic imperatives to employees and stakeholders.
  • Track measurements to assess the effectiveness of internal communications and ROI.
  • Collaborate with PR and Marketing teams to align communication plans with business needs.
  • Advise on and develop executive communications campaigns to enhance the organization's reputation.
  • Design and execute innovative content delivery methods across various channels.
  • Serve as the in-house reporter for high-priority business initiatives.
  • Draft messaging or scripts for senior executives' presentations.
  • Craft creative messaging that reflects the diversity within the organization.
  • Streamline content from multiple channels into digestible narratives for employees.
  • Foster relationships with key executive leaders across the business.
  • Manage the communications calendar for proactive and reactive content.
  • Coordinate internal and external events, company meetings, and presentations.
  • Manage communications for high-priority initiatives and mergers & acquisitions.
  • Oversee the development and governance of the intranet application.
  • Ensure editorial control of the intranet aligns with content strategy and brand guidelines.
  • Monitor intranet usage and provide insights to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in communications strategy development and execution.
  • Strong understanding of business strategies and communication alignment.
  • Experience managing a team of communications professionals.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for various communication formats.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective communication campaigns.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster relationships with executive leaders.
  • Experience with analytics to measure communication effectiveness.
