About the position

The Director of Communications at Elmbrook Church is responsible for overseeing all promotional activities and messaging for the church's ministries across multiple campuses. This role involves ensuring a coherent communication strategy, managing the church's website and mobile application, and collaborating with various teams to enhance communication efforts. The Director will also lead the communications department, develop digital and print materials, and represent the church in media relations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee the design, organization, and development of the Elmbrook.org website and mobile application.
• Collaborate with the worship team to ensure accurate communications around Sunday worship services, including video announcement scripts and storytelling.
• Design and execute a strategy for regular in-person communications for the Elmbrook community, including Sunday announcements and quarterly reports.
• Develop Elmbrook logo wear for sale in the church bookstore and online.
• Oversee the communication department in developing digital and print collateral for ministry events and communications.
• Participate as an active member of a social media team to disseminate targeted communications across platforms.
• Contribute to the Sermon Series Creative Team by developing graphical elements and videos.
• Oversee the production of regular ministry emails and weekly all-church emails.
• Review leases, maintenance, and material costs for the Print shop with the Senior Associate Pastor annually.
• Provide leadership and support for all communications department members.
• Collaborate with the video specialist on video production within the department.
• Represent the communications department as part of the ministry lead team.
• Provide promotional plans for events in collaboration with other ministries.
• Act as a liaison between Elmbrook and the media during emergencies or significant events.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Articulate a clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing relationship with Him.
• Demonstrate commitment to the mission and vision of Elmbrook Church, including attendance at weekly worship services.
• Exhibit humility, a teachable spirit, and integrity while working with ministry teams.
• Possess warm interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain strong relational connections within the congregation.
• Hold a degree in communications, media, or a related field, or have 3+ years of experience in church communication or a related environment.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and InDesign.
• Working knowledge of website content management and supervision of content developers.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to create influential media.
