About the position

WEX is seeking an experienced Director of Communications to join its global Marketing team. This role is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that align with the company's business goals, while managing a team of communications advisors. The Director will collaborate across the organization to create engaging communication campaigns for both internal and external audiences, ensuring effective messaging that supports the company's operational complexities.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a global communications strategy and implementation plans that align with the company's strategy.
  • Develop a CEO communications strategy in partnership with the Office of the CEO.
  • Create an employee-centric communications strategy in partnership with the Chief People Officer.
  • Ensure key strategic projects are communicated effectively to employees and stakeholders.
  • Track measurements to ensure the effectiveness of internal communications and ROI.
  • Collaborate with PR and Marketing teams to synergize marketing and communication plans.
  • Advise on and develop executive communications campaigns to enhance the organization's reputation.
  • Design and execute innovative ways to deliver engaging content through various channels.
  • Serve as the in-house reporter for high-priority business initiatives.
  • Draft messaging or scripts from senior executives for presentations.
  • Craft creative messaging approaches that reflect the diversity of voices within the organization.
  • Streamline content from multiple channels into digestible narratives for employees.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with key executive leaders across the business.
  • Manage the communications calendar and coordinate relevant events.
  • Actively manage multiple campaigns from concept to reporting.
  • Oversee the continuous development and governance of the intranet application.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications within a publicly listed company.
  • Proven experience in managing and leading teams.
  • Experience in developing and executing integrated executive communications campaigns.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks across various stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with digital channels for communication, including video and social media.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines while delivering content quickly and accurately.
