About the position

The Director of Communications at Q2 Impact is responsible for developing and implementing effective messaging and communication strategies that enhance the company's public image and promote its thought leadership. This role involves leading corporate communications, supporting project communications, and overseeing internal communications to foster knowledge sharing and team building within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Q2 Impact's communications strategy, identifying key messaging, audiences, channels, and strategic opportunities.
  • Develop and implement an organization-wide communications plan, ensuring engagement across all teams.
  • Proactively manage and respond to communications needs throughout the organization.
  • Create and maintain external communication resources, including the website, newsletters, publications, and social media.
  • Manage the implementation of communication activities in collaboration with various teams.
  • Bring innovative thinking to enhance design and implementation of strategic communications.
  • Support project-level communications by assisting project staff in developing and executing communication strategies.
  • Propose tools and platforms for knowledge sharing among project teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a MA/MS in Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, or a similar field, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in social media management and engagement tools such as Hootsuite and Google Analytics.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Deep knowledge of how communications can drive strategy and delivery.
  • Interest and experience in international development, socioeconomic data, and foreign policy issues.
  • Experience leading communications for donor-funded programs in governance and economic development sectors.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive strategic communications initiatives.
