About the position

The Communications Director at The Church of the Holy Comforter (CHC) is a part-time role focused on developing and implementing communication strategies that align with the church's mission and community values. This position requires creativity, attention to detail, and a collaborative spirit to manage both internal and external messaging effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement short, medium, and long-term communication strategies
• Manage internal and external messaging
• Work with media including social media, print publications, and email lists
• Maintain and develop CHC's website and public-facing platforms, including tracking engagement
• Promote CHC events, and support staff and volunteers with communication-related event activities (i.e. videos, slideshow presentations, virtual meeting links etc.)
• Regularly photograph CHC events
• Deliver CHC content in line with our brand guidelines and community values
• Be present in person for CHC's staff meetings and key events
• Maintain and adjust internal and external facing calendars

Requirements

• Demonstrated proficiency with communications technologies (i.e. email marketing platforms, basic website editing, Microsoft Office products, Google suite, etc.)
• Experience with graphic design, layout, and copywriting
• Familiarity with social media platforms and social media marketing
• Experience with search engine marketing, Google Analytics, etc.
• Comfort with project management, both independently and in a team setting
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice-to-haves

• Previous experience in public relations, non-profit communications, graphic design, or related fields
• Bachelor's degree preferred
