About the position
The Director of Construction is responsible for overseeing and supporting the construction workflow for new and existing restaurant sites. This role involves managing schedules, budgets, and coordinating various maintenance and construction projects, ensuring effective communication and attention to detail throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and support the construction workflow associated with new and existing restaurant sites.
- Manage selected contractors, vendors, and architects.
- Conduct site investigations and construction surveys.
- Ensure proper permitting, documentation, and coding.
- Responsible for all construction budgets.
- Communicate project timelines to all stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Coordinate a purchase order system and maintain it for all provided items.
- Coordinate the set-up of all utilities.
- Lead and manage the construction site through the turnover of the building to the operations team.
- Audit the work on the site and provide concise feedback to keep projects on track.
- Responsible for the close-out of each project, including necessary documents for TA dollars per lease.
Requirements
- 5+ years as a construction project coordinator within restaurants or similar applicable experience.
- Knowledge of industry standards, materials, local policies, and processes to meet project quality and deadlines.
- Ability to multi-task and perform various tasks as needed to complete projects.
- Proficient in Excel at above the intermediate level.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to balance several priorities.
- Skilled in communicating with various personalities in a convincing and professional manner.
- Maintains high standards and can address quality of work or appropriate charges without hesitation.
- Ability to travel when required.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
