About the position

The Director of Consumer Marketing at Morton Salt is responsible for the strategic development and execution of marketing initiatives that enhance the Morton brand across consumer segments. This role involves leading brand strategy, managing integrated marketing communication plans, and driving innovation to ensure brand growth and equity. The director will collaborate cross-functionally to align marketing efforts with business objectives and customer needs, while also monitoring market trends and performance metrics to inform strategic decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and shape strategies, goals, and campaigns to strengthen Morton brand equity.
  • Direct the development and management of integrated marketing communication plans.
  • Oversee marketing communication strategies, including creative development and audience targeting.
  • Manage relationships with various agencies and oversee RFP processes.
  • Define a clear value proposition and ongoing growth path for the brand.
  • Develop cohesive brand strategy and communication plans to remain relevant in the market.
  • Monitor market, customer, and competitor trends to identify opportunities and risks.
  • Implement commercialization efforts to meet growth commitments.
  • Establish and report against key performance metrics.
  • Gather market intelligence to guide strategy and initiatives.
  • Execute innovation launches and oversee projects from idea generation to commercialization.
  • Provide strategic direction for pricing strategies and collaborate with sales teams.
  • Participate in monthly business planning meetings and support annual budget development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science required, MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in marketing and innovation.
  • Proven expertise in marketing, brand management, and innovation.
  • Strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative methodologies.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Analytical skills for problem solving and innovative thinking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and other relevant technologies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Nielsen, Spectra, Home-scan, etc.
  • Familiarity with eCommerce strategies and retail landscape.
