About the position

The Director of Corporate Communications & Employee Engagement is responsible for enhancing the company's internal communication strategy and promoting a positive workplace culture. This role involves collaboration with Human Resources to support employee engagement initiatives, manage reputation, and oversee communication efforts that align with the company's mission and values. The position also includes developing media relations strategies and enhancing corporate sustainability and philanthropic efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Marketing/Communications team as the primary liaison with Human Resources to promote the company's culture.
  • Oversee content and resources available to employees through the intranet portal 'IntraGUARD Zone'.
  • Enhance internal communication strategy to support the company's mission, vision, values, and guiding principles.
  • Promote GUARD as an attractive employer brand through social media and other tactics to support recruitment efforts.
  • Develop and execute programs, events, and activities that enhance employee engagement and well-being.
  • Manage reputation strategy and improve company ratings on platforms like Google Reviews and BBB.
  • Organize internal meetings, training sessions, and events in collaboration with the Marketing Team and HR.
  • Create a repository of employee testimonials to support company culture and values.
  • Maintain brand identity internally and ensure easy access to compliance resources.
  • Assist in enhancing corporate sustainability and philanthropic strategies.
  • Work with brand ambassadors to extend company culture across field offices.
  • Implement a proactive and reactive media relations strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Human Resources, or related field.
  • At least five years of experience with employee engagement and/or communication/media relations strategies.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Highly creative with demonstrated leadership qualities.
  • Willingness to travel periodically to field offices across the country.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and WordPress.
  • Experience with event planning and project management.
  • Understanding of the insurance industry.
