The Director of Creative Media for Athletics at Oklahoma Baptist University (OBU) plays a pivotal role in enhancing the visibility and reputation of the university's intercollegiate athletics programs. This position is responsible for gathering and disseminating information to the public regarding specific sports, while also assisting with public relations activities within the athletics department. The Director will collaborate closely with the Director of Athletics Communications to manage and operate the department effectively. In a rapidly evolving communications landscape, the Director is expected to embrace and lead change, strategically positioning the department to build the OBU brand through various media channels, including video, online resources, social media, and emerging platforms. The Director will serve as a key publicity outlet for Bison Athletics, ensuring that information about the university's athletic programs is readily available to the public in a timely and effective manner. This role involves being the lead content creator using tools such as Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or similar programs, and managing computer statistics for various OBU sporting events, which may include football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, baseball, and softball. Additionally, the Director will assist in producing broadcasts for the Bison Sports Network and will be responsible for nominating deserving student-athletes for conference and national awards, as well as postseason accolades. This position requires a commitment to the mission and values of OBU, including a dedication to the essentials of the Christian faith, treating people with dignity and respect, and achieving excellence through teamwork and leadership. The Director of Creative Media for Athletics will report directly to the Associate Athletics Director for External Operations, and will be expected to contribute to the overall success and innovation of the athletics communications department.
