About the position

The Director of Creative Operations at Cole Haan will collaborate closely with the VP of Brand Design & Retail to enhance global storytelling and consumer experiences. This role integrates Production and Creative Operations teams to establish formal processes that amplify the Brand Design studio's output. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and technical expert with a proven track record in executing successful global marketing campaigns, ensuring high-quality deliverables that resonate with customers.

Responsibilities

  • Drive and manage the Brand Design organization's seasonal planning, partnering across all design and marketing leadership teams.
  • Develop and lead core Brand Design and Production initiatives, establishing clear and timely communication for project management.
  • Recalibrate project schedules from inception to completion, including resource planning and risk management.
  • Create and maintain the full brand marketing seasonal calendar, coordinating across key marketing disciplines.
  • Lead the development and rollout of Brand Design practices, driving continuous process improvement.
  • Manage all project management for external media and creative production operations.
  • Oversee the Brand Design budget and assist with monthly reconciliation to ensure projects are on time and on budget.
  • Own weekly Creative Status meetings and co-own weekly Marketing Status meetings.
  • Implement and document technical and workflow processes within the studio.
  • Research manufacturing methods and materials to enhance brand expression in retail.

Requirements

  • BFA/BA required, preferably from a top-tier art school or creative major.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in Print Production and Creative Operations/Studio Management.
  • Retail/Fashion industry experience preferred; digital experience required.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of digital design technologies, with knowledge of UX and motion.
  • Working knowledge of color management and on-press color approval experience required.
  • Expert knowledge of Mac OS X, Google Apps, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in leading creative teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with project management software tools.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in digital marketing and design.
