About the position

The Director of Creative Services at Loyola University Chicago is responsible for overseeing and executing graphic design and digital media initiatives for the university's varsity athletic teams. This role involves managing content creation for various communication platforms, including social media, the official athletics website, and promotional materials. The director will also lead social media campaigns, educate staff and student-athletes on best practices, and stay updated on social media trends to enhance the university's athletic branding.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, coordinate and perform graphic design and digital media activities for Loyola University's varsity athletic teams.
  • Manage all graphic design content creation/editing for various communication vehicles including social media, official athletics website, in-game video/scoreboards, newsletters, and corporate sponsorship proposals.
  • Design advertisements and develop, write, edit, and design posters, schedule cards, flyers, newsletters, brochures, and other publications.
  • Oversee all social media campaigns including concept development, activation, measurement, and evaluation.
  • Manage social media vendors and relationships with various outlets (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, etc.).
  • Identify, interpret, and capitalize on social media trends and best practices, regularly monitoring and evaluating existing platforms and the potential to leverage new ones.
  • Assist with Influencer and Name Image Likeness related platforms and student-athlete brand building initiatives, including supplemental photography.
  • Provide social media education and best practices to coaches and student-athletes on an annual basis or upon request.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated graphic design experience.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, After Effects, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
  • Experience with social media platforms (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.).
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
