The Director of Creative & Video Production is a pivotal role within the athletic department at Austin Peay State University, responsible for overseeing the day-to-day creative video production efforts. This position is integral to the external affairs leadership team and reports directly to the Senior Associate A.D./External Affairs. The Director will manage the production, coordination, and execution of creative video content specifically tailored for digital and social media platforms, as well as for LED video boards used during athletic events. This includes the creation of engaging content that enhances the visibility and appeal of the university's athletic programs. In addition to producing content for social media, the Director will also be responsible for managing live non-game event productions, which encompass press conferences, coaches' shows, team introductions, hype videos, and cinematic pieces that capture the spirit of Austin Peay athletics. The role requires a hands-on approach to supervising the troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of video production hardware and systems, ensuring that all equipment is in optimal working condition for events. The Director will oversee inventory control of video equipment and supplies, ensuring that all necessary resources are available for successful event production. A key aspect of this role is the recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, and management of event production personnel, which includes freelance workers as well as undergraduate and graduate student employees. Collaboration with the Director of Digital Media is essential to fulfill corporate sponsor and donor asset requirements, and the Director will also serve as a liaison to the Ohio Valley Conference for the execution of ESPN+ productions. Managing project timelines to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery of finished products is critical, along with performing other related duties as assigned.
