About the position

The Director of Customized and Industry Training at Fayetteville Technical Community College is responsible for addressing workforce development needs through high-quality, short-term training programs tailored to local industries. This role involves managing the NCWorks Customized Training program, overseeing strategic planning, resource allocation, and integrating emerging technologies into industry-specific training. The Director will build and maintain partnerships with local and state economic development agencies, ensuring the College plays a central role in workforce recruitment and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Manage the NCWorks Customized Training program.
• Oversee strategic planning and resource allocation for training programs.
• Integrate emerging technologies into workforce training.
• Build and maintain partnerships with local and state economic development agencies.
• Develop training solutions across various areas such as industrial maintenance, safety, IT, leadership, and employee development.
• Coordinate with local businesses and organizations to promote economic growth.
• Lead budgeting processes and conduct cost and productivity analysis for initiatives.
• Plan and promote strategies to attract and retain businesses through customized training.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate assigned instructors and staff.
• Represent the College at public functions to support economic development initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, education, business administration, public administration, industrial engineering, or a related field.
• Five years of management responsibility and experience in industrial training or business management.
• Four years of experience in program development and administration of continuing education programs in a college or university setting.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Education, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Experience in economic development initiatives.
