About the position

The Director of Cyber & Computer Science Education at the University of South Carolina Aiken will lead the expansion and development of K-12 education programs focused on cyber, coding, and computer science. This role aims to enhance educational offerings, engage students and teachers in cybersecurity education, and promote awareness of cybersecurity career fields. The director will integrate best practices in delivering cybersecurity instruction and coordinate various educational programs and outreach events.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate and provide leadership for the expansion of cyber and computer science education programs.
• Teach innovative STEM lessons focused on cyber and computer science education.
• Enhance existing lessons and develop new educational programs for students and teachers.
• Coordinate student programs, teacher workshops, and summer camps.
• Partner with others to arrange special programs and outreach events.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 2 or more years of experience, or equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
• Master's degree and 3 years of teaching or related experience preferred.
• Experience with coding, programming, robotics, cyber, and computer education activities preferred.
• Knowledge of basic education principles, curriculum development, and instructional design.
• Ability to maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and coworkers.

• Familiarity with the field of cybersecurity or other technical fields.
