About the position

The Director of DevOps/CloudOps at insightsoftware is responsible for overseeing the DevOps team that supports specific products. This role involves strategic planning, leadership, and coaching to enhance service delivery and ensure the successful implementation of DevOps practices. The position requires a solid technical background and experience in managing large-scale infrastructure and cloud operations, with a focus on continuous improvement and adherence to industry best practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage the continuous improvement of monitoring/alerting capabilities and incident management.
• Embrace a DevOps mentality and build a culture of shared responsibility and transparency.
• Leverage industry best practices to ensure security is integrated into deliverables from the start.
• Manage and grow an enterprise DevOps/CloudOps team.
• Build and evolve monitoring and analytics systems to evaluate uptime, usage, and performance metrics.
• Drive adoption of industry-standard methodologies for infrastructure as code and reliability testing.
• Advocate for Agile practices and a continuous improvement framework.
• Ensure workstreams and projects are well managed with appropriate tracking and reporting.
• Implement a communications strategy focused on business value.
• Lead incident response efforts and coordinate with other teams to resolve incidents.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in a CloudOps role.
• 8+ years of experience with IaaS Platforms (AWS and/or Azure preferred).
• Proficient in automation using Batch, Powershell, Ruby, Python, or shell scripts.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, or Ansible.
• Experience with Networking, Routing, DNS & Load Balancing.
• Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle, including CI/CD pipeline architecture.
• Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience in agile development processes.
• Strong experience with modern application development workflows and version control systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with creating SQL scripts and administering PostgreSQL.
