About the position

The Director of Development at Accessia Health is a key leadership role responsible for driving the organization's fundraising efforts and expanding its financial resources. This position involves cultivating relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors, while also planning and executing events to engage donors and raise funds. The Director will collaborate closely with various teams to align fundraising strategies with the organization's mission and goals, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and nurture relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate sponsors.
  • Expand and manage a pipeline of current and prospective funders, including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
  • Partner with leadership to develop and execute fundraising strategies that align with the organization's mission and values.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of grant proposals, ensuring compliance with all requirements and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive donor records, track donations, and generate reports to measure progress toward fundraising goals.
  • Monitor and analyze fundraising data, track donor engagement, and make data-driven decisions to optimize fundraising strategies.
  • Work closely with the Communications and Marketing team to develop and execute donor communications and marketing materials.
  • Ensure all fundraising activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to implement a robust advocacy engagement strategy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in nonprofit fundraising and business development.
  • Proven track record of meeting fundraising goals and securing major gifts.
  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles, with experience in donor cultivation and pipeline management.
  • Tangible experience expanding and cultivating existing donor relationships over time.
  • Ability to construct, articulate, and implement an annual strategic development plan.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral; ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors.
  • Flexible and adaptable style; a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical fundraising initiatives.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry trends and access to care challenges is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in healthcare fundraising.
  • CFRE certification or similar fundraising credentials.
