About the position

The Director of Digital Marketing at Michigan State University is responsible for leading digital marketing efforts to enhance online presence, engage donors, and drive alumni engagement initiatives. Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy to increase donor and alumni engagement.
  • Be a strategic partner in the development of digital fundraising campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create compelling content that resonates with alumni and potential donors.
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders to build a strong network of support.
  • Lead and mentor a team of digital content creators, encouraging innovation and best practices.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
  • Optimize web content for search engines and manage pay-per-click advertising campaigns.

Requirements

  • Knowledge equivalent to a four-year college degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience in public relations, marketing, or related fields.
  • Management and supervisory experience may be required.
  • Proven track record of successful digital fundraising and engagement campaigns.
  • Experience with CRM software and content management systems like Sitecore.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in digital marketing with a focus on fundraising and higher education.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret data into actionable insights.
